After Hours Family Sock Hop
The Forest Park Public Library is hosting a retro-style dance party at 5 p.m., Feb. 3 at 7555 Jackson Blvd. Spread the love by bringing a donation of new socks for Housing Forward, a nonprofit that provides services for the homeless. Learn the fundamentals of canning in a hands-on demo with veteran gardener Anna Stange. Both water bath and pressure canning tips and techniques will be discussed. The group will prepare and can organic seasonal produce, which will be avaialable for tasting at the conclusion of the program. Chicago Freedom Movement
In honor of Black History Month, speaker Bernard Turner will talk at 7 p.m., Feb. 5 at 7555 Jackson Blvd. on how local organizations focused on equal and fair housing, better schools and economic equality advanced the civil rights movement. Get tickets at fppl.org.

Breaded Pork Tenderloin Fundraiser
