Veterans Day Dinner

The Historical Society of Forest Park will present its "Our Neighbors, Our Heroes" oral history of local veterans at its annual meeting at 4 p.m. on Nov. 7 at the American Legion, 500 Circle Ave. Veterans will enjoy a free dinner; tickets for all other adults cost $24 and children $5. Reserve your space by Nov. 7 at ForestParkHistory.org.

The Wizard of Oz

Join officials from the Howard Mohr Community Center for a trip to the Paramount Theater in Aurora for a production of The Wizard of Oz. Enjoy lunch at Fireside Grill in Sugar Grove, which includes bread and butter, vegetables, mashed potatoes, drinks and ice cream. Lunch is included. Tickets $85 for residents; $89 for non-residents. Reservations required. Call the Howard Mohr Community Center at 708-771-7737 to reserve your space. Fun runs from 9:45 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Nov. 14.

Anniversary Party

Yearbook Studios is inviting the whole community to celebrate its seventh anniversary, from 7 to 9 p.m. on Nov. 8 at Yearbook, 408 Thomas Ave. Enjoy cocktails, hors d'oeuvres and learn about what the design studio is working on.

Discuss author Evelyn Waugh's "Brideshead Revisited" from 2 to 4 p.m. on Nov. 10 at Centuries & Sleuths Bookstore, 7419 Madison St.

Knitting for Good

Join officials from the Forest Park Public Library for two nights of knitting to help stock its Little Free Pantry with warm clothes for the winter. Attendees will learn how to knit a scarf from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Nov. 7 at 7555 Jackson Blvd. Then on Nov. 14, they'll return to finish the scarf. Supplies provided. Advanced knitters also welcome. If you bring your own yard, please make sure it is washable. Reserve your space at fppl.org.

Funding Your Educational Goals

Mentoring You College & Career Readiness & Thrivent Financial will show high school students and their families 30 tips for cutting costs, how to open a college savings account, scholarship search engines and more, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Nov. 15 at 7555 Jackson Blvd. Reserve your space at fppl.org.

In honor of International Games Week, officials from the Forest Park Public Library are super sizing its "Cootie" game. Play as an individual or as a family of kids, tweens and adults. Fun runs from 2 to 3 p.m. on Nov. 10 at 7555 Jackson Blvd.

Twisted Cookie Storytime

Join officials from the Forest Park Public Library for a story time and small craft from 10:30 to 11 a.m. on Nov. 12 at Twisted Cookie, 7401 Madison St.

Teen & Tween Game Design Lab

In honor of International Gaming Week, officials from the Forest Park Public Library will teach teens and tweens how to design games. Fun runs from 4 to 5 p.m. on Nov. 7 at 7555 Jackson Blvd.

Teen After Hours Laser Tag

Join officials from the Forest Park Public Library for a glow-in-the-dark laser tag party from 6 to 8 p.m. on Nov. 9 at 7555 Jackson Blvd. Teens only.
