FastBridge Assessment

For the past year and a half, our Balanced Assessment Committee has been looking at what we have in terms of assessment. It was decided that MAP is not working for our district and we need an assessment that gives us real time data, benchmark assessments and progress monitoring tools. FastBridge was the best choice for our district. This spring, FastBridge will be given as a training for our teachers. No scores from this administration of the assessment will be shared.

State of the District Finances

State of Illinois owes $356,282.62 in Mandated Categorical Grant Payments to District 91 Illinois school districts are awaiting the disbursement of the first two (typically of four) payments of FY2017 mandated categorical grants. As of 1/31/2017, District 91 is waiting to receive a total amount of $356,282.62 in payments from the State of Illinois. It is likely that these payments will not be disbursed until the state approves a budget. While Illinois Senate leaders have made some progress on a state budget, it is still unknown as to when a final budget will be approved by the Illinois Senate, House and Governor.

A breakdown by grant on the total amount owed to District 91 is as follows:

Funding for Children Requiring Special Education Services $56,430.98

Transportation Special Education $96,775.44

Special Education Personnel $174,507.24

Total: $356,282.62

We will continue to monitor any activity on the state budget and share information as it becomes available.
