Star Wars Day

May the Fourth be with you! Celebrate national "Star Wars Day" with themed activities, yoda-gami and more at 10:30 a.m. on May 4 at the Forest Park Public Library, 7555 Jackson Blvd. 

Germanfest

Forest Park's fourth annual Germanfest will be held the weekend of June 8 and June outside the Altenheim Picnic Grove, 7824 Madison St. Enjoy live music and entertainment, authentic German food and beer, games for kids and booths featuring items by local vendors. Monthly Gig at Amy's 

Amy's Wine House will play host a monthly gig of patois (calypso, reggae and ska) singers at 8:30 p.m. on May 11 at 7235 Roosevelt Rd.

Spring Market

The Oak Park Womens Exchange will hold a Spring Market craft and vendor fair from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on May 5 at the Howard Mohr Community Center, 7640 Jackson Blvd. Shop homemade jewelry, scarves, kitchen items and more. Free to enter, all proceeds benefit the not-for-profit. 

Rise N' Learn

Join expert Margo Bristow for a presentation on "Neuroscience Research and Process Addictions: How Our Brains React to Technology—the Good, the Bad and the Ugly." Talk starts at 11 a.m. on May 4 at Riveredge Hospital, 8311 W. Roosevelt Rd. 

Lakeside Flutes

Enjoy the sounds of a flute choir with classic, pop, jazz and contemporary styles of music at 2 p.m. on May 6 at the Forest Park Public Library, 7555 Jackson Blvd. 

Shred It and Forget It 

The Forest Park National Bank & Trust Co. is sponsoring a free sensitive document shredding event from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. on May 5 at 7348 Madison St. Roy Strom Shredding Solutions Services will shred sensitive documents with a truck-mounted industrial shredder. Bank personnel and Forest Park police officers will also be on hand to discuss ways to protect your identity. 

Crop Walk

Join the 35th annual Hunger Walkathon West CROP Walk and help fight hunger. Walk through the communities of Oak Park and Austin. Walk starts at 1 p.m. on May 6 at 460 Lake St. in Oak Park. Buy tickets ahead of time at crophungerwalk.org. 

Documentary Night

Enjoy a screening of "An Inconvenient Sequel: Truth to Power" at 6:30 p.m. on May 8 at the Forest Park Public Library, 7555 Jackson Blvd.
