One-of-A-Kind Hiring Event Hosted at ITT Tech Seeks to Hire 100 Women in Response to STEM Initiatives

UST Global, an Aliso Viejo-based information technology solutions and services company for Global 1000 enterprises, created Step IT Up America in response to Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) efforts across the country to engage more women of color in technology. Step IT UP America will host an unprecedented Hiring Event in Chicago on June 5-6, at ITT Tech Oak Brook Campus to make good on its promise to get 100 minority women hired in and around Chicago.  UST Global will recruit, train and employ African-American women in technology careers and place them in permanent positions with blue-chip corporations in Chicago.  UST Global is interested in recruiting women from all around the Chicago area, including Forest Park.

Participants can come to the Hiring Event with limited or no experience and leave with a promising start to a career in a secure field.   Attendees should pre-register at www.joinstepitupamerica.com by May 31 for one of two sessions at9 a.m. or Noon on June 5th or 6th.  Space is limited and pre-registrants will have priority.

WHAT ATTENDEES NEED:

Step IT Up America's Chicago-area Hiring Event is unique in that no experience is necessary for candidates and minimal qualifications are required.  Participants should come prepared to spend a minimum of two hours for program orientation, interviewing and assessment testing.  Attendees should bring resumes and cover letters and demonstrate a passion to work in technology.  Additional qualifications include:

·         Minority Female

·         GED or high school diploma with graduating GPA of 3.0 or higher

·         Currently enrolled in community college or 6 to 10 college units completed

·         Basic computer skills

·         Availability for 12-week paid training

·         Note: AA degree strongly preferred 

REGISTRATION:

Marland are you kidding? The lack of women - let alone minority women - in STEM is well enough documented. If you were truly curious you could find ample information to support this being a worthy endeavor.
