Next Saturday Chris Kennedy will be speaking at Dominican University from 1-2 p.m. Three of his sisters (Rory, Molly and Carrie), and their families, will be at Dominican for his speech. During the morning, however, they would like to support their brother by campaigning in our community for a couple of hours. For this reason, the campaign is organizing a canvass activity so the Kennedy relatives (mainly Chris' sisters) can meet Forest Park/Oak Park/River Forest residents between 10 a.m. and 12:15 p.m. Three of his adult children (Kate, 25; Chris Jr., 24; and Sarah, 22) may also be in Forest Park next Saturday. Please consider spending up to two hours helping the Kennedy sisters (or another Kennedy relative) canvass the community.

As of now, the Kennedys are expected to arrive at the Park District of Forest Park, 7501 Harrison, at 10 a.m. The Kennedy campaign would like volunteers to join them in going door to door collecting signatures for Chris' nominating petitions from 10-12:15. Some of the Kennedys may also wish to visit friendly businesses on Madison Street in Forest Park or in parts of Oak Park. They can either pass out literature or have a local volunteer accompany them to collect signatures (out-of-state residents cannot circulate nominating petition). One friend has suggested that the sisters can stop by McAdams Fall Fest or the Empowering Gardens event. It was also suggested they visit Oak Park Farmers Market. In any event, shortly after noon, the canvass will come to a stop so the Kennedy family members can meet Chris at Dominican University.

The Kennedy for Illinois campaign is likely open to any suggestions for places where Rory, Molly, and Carrie (and possibly their spouses) can encounter area voters that morning. If you can help, please let me know. Even if you are not available next Saturday, the campaign is seeking volunteers to help collect signatures for Chris Kennedy's nominating petitions. I am asking friends to help by getting 15 signatures, which is enough to fill up one nominating petition sheet. (In order to get on the ballot, the Kennedy campaign needs 10,000 signatures from registered Illinois voters).
