Patricia Vastine, 77, Taught at FP public schools for 46 years
Patricia R. Vastine of Forest Park died at the age of 77 on September 30, 2005. She was the beloved daughter of the late John “Chick” and the late Blanche, and the loving sister of the late Thomas. She is survived by many dear cousins and close friends.

Patricia was an elementary school teacher and reading specialist for the Forest Park Public schools, retiring after 46 years of service. Upon her retirement, the library at Grant White Elementary School was dedicated in her name.

She was active in her community and served on the Forest Park Library Board for many years and was active on the St. Bernardine Church Council for many years.

Patricia enjoyed traveling, showing dogs, reading and playing bridge.

A memorial mass will take place at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 5 at St. Bernardine Church, 7246 W. Harrison St. in Forest Park.

Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent to St. Bernardine Church or the Scottish Home, 2800 Desplaines Ave., North Riverside, 60546.

Arrangements were handled by Hallowell and James Funeral Home in Countryside.

Margaret H. Engstrom, 89, Sunday school teacher for 70 years
Margaret H. Engstrom, nee Cornue, formerly of Forest Park, passed away October 1, 2005. She was the beloved wife of the late Victor Rehfeldt and the late Melvin Engstron, and the loving mother of Diane Shedd.

She was the dear grandmother of Kim, Lynn and Noelle Hause, and the fond great grandmother of Nathan and Christomer Smith and Ian, Terran and Maris Hause. She was the fond great-grandmother of Aline Smith.

Mrs. Engstrom attended St. John Ev. Lutheran School in Forest Park and Proviso High School in Maywood. She retired from Concordia University in River Forest, and taught Sunday School at St. John for 70 years.

Visitation was held from 3-6 p.m. on Thursday, October 6 at Zimmerman-Ehringer-Harnett Funeral Home in Forest Park and 10-11 a.m. on Friday, October 7 at St. John Ev. Lutheran Church, where service will be held at 11 a.m.

Interment at Concordia Cemetery. Memorials should be sent to St. John Ev. Lutheran Church, 305 Circle Ave., Forest Park, 60130.

John Kirnbauer, 82, Avid bowler and fisherman
John Kirnbauer, 82, of Oak Park, died September 28, 2005. He was the beloved husband of Hedwig nee Dietz and the loving father of Susan Dyra and John W. He was the fond grandfather and great-grandfather of many.

Visitation was held from 3 to 8 p.m. on Friday, September 30 at Zimmerman-Ehringer-Harnett Funeral Home in Forest Park.

Mr. Kirnbauer enjoyed bowling and fishing, and worked for the Sunbeam Corporation for amost 30 years.

The funeral service and interment took place at 11 a.m. on Saturday October 1 at the chapel of Memory Gardens cemetery, 2501 E. Euclid in Arlington Heights. Memorials to St. John Ev.
