Catherine M. O'Donnell

Catherine M. O’Donnell (nee Kolovitz) died May 1 at 91 years young. She was born Nov. 9, 1921. Supermom to Barbara, John (Eileen), Nancy (the late Jeff) Gibson, Mary Jane (Dave) Mulchrone and Laura (Chris) Costanzo. She was the wife of the late Edward, Chicago Police Dept.

She was grandmother of Kevin, Megan, Rosie, Glenn, Dave, Marty, Evelyn, Dennis, Frank, Carrie, Rene, Quinn and the late Jack, and great-grandmother of Everett. She was sister of the late John and Frank Kolovitz.

Catherine was a true pillar of strength to all who had the honor to know her and was a woman of great courage, determination, perseverance, piety and practicality. Catherine loved all things Chicago and talking fondly of the old days on the West Side and the WWII era. She retired from Illinois Bell telephone company. She was a longtime resident of Forest Park and Parishioner of St. Bernardine Church. She was an active member of the Forest Park Senior Center.

Services were held at St. Bernardine Catholic Church with arrangements by Zimmerman-Harnett Funeral Home of Forest Park. She was interred at St. Joseph Cemetery in River Grove in her late parents John and Teresa’s gravesite. Memorials to St. Bernardine Church are appreciated.
