Terry Dean Danuser, 73, Korean War veteran
Terry Dean Danuser, 73, of Forest Park, died April 1 at Hines V.A. Hospital.
The Maywood native served as superintendent of streets and forestry for the Village of Oak Park and attended high school at Proviso.
Danuser, an avid sports fan, was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the US Air Force.
He is survived by his son Terry Derrick; his siblings Dorothy O’Shea, Evelyn (Gil) Way, Ruth Swan, Norman (Lois) and Jimmy; and by his special friend Sheila.
He was preceded in death by his siblings Marjorie Liptow, Mildred “Bobbie” Kane, Donald, August “Buck”, Richard “Dick” and Danny.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 6, at 11 a.m. at the Zimmerman-Ehringer Funeral Home, followed by interment at the Woodlawn Cemetery.
Marion Fippinger, 73, lifelong resident of Forest Park
Marion Jean Fippinger, 73, a lifelong resident of Forest Park died March 16, 2005 at Renaissance Assisted Living in Hillside.
The Chicago native was a graduate of St. Bernardine Elementary School and Nazareth Academy in LaGrange Park.
Fippinger worked as an office manager for the Sheet Metal Workers Union until 1962 and was a member of the St. Bernardine’s Women’s Club.
She is survived by her brother, Willian Fippinger, and her cousins, Paul Stewart, Eileen Leonard and Sr. Ellen Clare Maesner.
Visitation was held March 20 at Drechsler, Brown and Williams Funeral Home in Oak Park. Funeral Mass was celebrated on March 21 at St. Bernardine Church, followed by interment at Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
Harry W. Nichols, 71, veteran of the US Air Force
Harry W. Nichols, 71, of Forest Park, died March 28, 2005 in Hines.
Nichols was a veteran of the US Air Force and a former maintenance laborer.
He is survived by his sisters Janice (nee Monaghan) and Sherry (John) Stewart; and his cousin Geraldine Miller.
Visitation was held on March 31 at Joseph Nosek & Sons Funeral Home, followed by a mass at St. Bernardine Church on April 1. Interment was at Abraham Lincoln Cemetery in Elwood.
John C. Prescott, 83, WWII veteran
John C. Prescott, 83, of River Forest, died March 31 at his home.
Prescott was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Forest Park and a member of their Dart Team, as well as an avid bowler.
The Chicago native was an engineer with the telephone company and a veteran of WWII.
He is survived by his wife Carol (nee Ernst); his children John (Joan), Barry (Debbie) Mark and Sandra; and five grandchildren.
Visitation was held at Zimmerman-Ehringer Funeral Home on April 1, followed by services on April 2 at St. John Lutheran Church. Interment was at Concordia Cemetery.
Herbert Schomer, 80, WWII veteran
Herbert W. Schomer, 80, a veteran of the Army Air Corps in World War II, died March 20, 2005 at Oak Park Hospital. The Chicago native was an auditor for the CTA and a Forest Park resident for 30 years.
Schomer is survived by his daughter, LuAnn (Daniel) Hart; his sister, Ruth Dubrule; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Rosemary (nee Coleman), and his brother and sister-in-law Arnold and Alice Schomer.
Services were held March 23 at the Zimmerman-Ehringer Funeral Home, followed by funeral Mass at St. Bernardine Catholic Church and interment at Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
