Starting September 11, the library will be open from 1-5p.m. on Sundays.

We will also resume our “family Movie Afternoon” Series on Sunday, September 25 at 2 p.m. September’s feature is still TBA, but it will certainly be something that parents and children can enjoy together. Light snacks will be available, provided by the Friends of the Library, and as always, admission is FREE.

Mark Tuesday, September 27 on your calendar! Billy Lombardo, local resident and author, will come to the library at 7 p.m. to discuss his book “The Logic of A Rose.” This collection of short stories was very favorably reviewed in the Chicago Tribune. Mr. Lombardo will discuss his book, and will have copies available for those who may want to purchase one.

September will mark the beginning of an exciting new electronic resource here at the library. “Learn A Test” will be available for use in the library, and for access from home or office computers through our website. This valuable resource includes preparation material and practice exams for many of the more widely used tests, such as the GED, ASVAB military entrance test, NCLEX-RN nursing exam, ACT, and many more. To access this program from outside the library, you will need your Forest Park library card and a PIN number, which you set yourself by going thorough our website. Instructions for establishing a PIN are on our site through the “Place Your Own Holds and Renewals” link. You will find “Learn A Test” through the “Reference” link off the main page, followed by the “Databases” link on the “Reference” page. The library’s website is http://www.forestparkpubliclibrary.org.
