Students wishing to apply for admission to the Proviso Math and Science Academy (PMSA) are required to take the Naglieri Non-Verbal Ability Test.
The test will be administered on the following days: October 22, November 5, November 19, December 3, December 17 and January 7. Testing will take place at the Academy, located at 8601 Roosevelt Road. Students should arrive by 8:30 a.m. and bring two #2 pencils. The test should conclude by 10 a.m.
The application process for PMSA also includes completion of an application form and two essays, elementary school transcripts, test scores and teacher recommendations.
Applications are due January 15, 2006, but officials at PMSA urge students to have their applications completed before the Christmas holidays.
During testing hours, PMSA will offer open house tours of the facility for family members. Light snacks and refreshments will be provided.
