The Forest Park Review and the West Suburban Journal have formed a news sharing arrangement which will augment news coverage for both newspapers.

Under the arrangement, which begins with this issue, the papers will exchange selected news articles. The Review will share its coverage of the District 209 Proviso High School district with the Journal. The Journal’s coverage of Proviso Township government will appear in the Forest Park paper.

“This is good and logical way for both our papers to broaden our coverage for our readers while being creative in sharing limited editorial resources,” said Review Publisher Dan Haley.

Nicole Trottie, publisher of West Suburban Journal, noted the positive working relationship the two newspaper companies have shared. “Since we launched the West Suburban Journal a year ago, and even before that during the planning stages, we’ve always worked well with the Review and with its parent company, Wednesday Journal of Oak Park and River Forest. It’s important for independent newspapers like ours to find ways to work together,” she said.

For his part, Haley said, “We are admirers and supporters of the West Suburban Journal. We believe in the power an independent newspaper brings to the towns covered by the Journal and we’re happy to be involved in this editorial alliance.”
