Congratulations to new parents Dr. Matthew and Maya Specter who welcomed baby Bradley Edward into the family on December 1, 2005.
The Friends of the Forest Park Library held its annual Christmas Party in the Austin Meeting Room last week. When Ruth Loyd offered to bring a game, everyone groaned. But when she produced her Christmas version of Bingo called “Jingle” it was a different story. The game was actually a lot of fun and everyone was delighted and everyone even won a prize! Concordia Daylo is serving iced tea to Elaine Kovarek and Rose Everson. Iced tea in December? Well, you know that Austin Meeting room can get as hot in winter as it gets cold in summer. And that’s saying a lot!
Two of our able-bodied (always) young men were enjoying themselves as they delighted the ladies with their stories. Zeno Jacquat and Phil Robinson are shown here entertaining Marge Zwadlo. A special honoree at the party was Loretta Woeltje who celebrated a big birthday this week. Not only is Loretta a big help with the Friends, she works hard for Saint Peter’s Lutheran Church as well. The Friends are looking forward to a new year filled with a variety of activities. If you’d ever thought of joining the Friends of the Library, sign up. Ask for a form at the circulation desk or just come to a monthly meeting. Meetings are held at 2 p.m. on the first Saturday of each month. See you there?
You’re much too busy to sit around reading this column, so I’ll cut it short. But not before wishing a happy birthday to:
Steven T. Rozmus on December 14; Dan Barron and Adam Ritter on the 17th; Sue Stanton and Bill Hopp on December 18; Amanda Rychtanek, Tim Flanagan, Irene O’Shea and eight-year-oldMadeleine Garlisch on December 19; on December 21 birthday greetings to Diana Dylewski, Scott Popelka and Kaylee Ross.
Now back to your frenzy”chop a bun. Thanks for taking time out of your busy week to read this.
