Why couldn’t Proviso afford the Liberty Bowl trip?
I do not understand why Proviso High School District 209 could not pay for the Proviso East Band to travel to the Liberty Bowl. Proviso High School has a $70 million a year budget, but cannot find money for these kids. They did, however, reportedly find $750,000 to pay off Melrose Park mayor Ron Serpico’s guilty verdict. They also found $273,000 to pay in commissions to Eugene Moore, and they borrowed $40 million to pay for a magnet school that originally cost $15 million. I believe School District 209 needs to open up their books for the public to examine. It is obvious Proviso High Schools are broke and Chris Welch, Rob Serpico and Eugene Moore are to blame.
