Citizens United in Forest Park (CUinFP) will be hosting a series of political forums for candidates, as well as voter registration drives, over the coming weeks. Dates are as follows.
Candidate forums
Monday, Jan. 30: Current 7th District State Representative Karen Yarbrough and 4th District State Senator Kimberly Lightford will speak at the Austin Room in the Forest Park Library, 7555 Jackson Blvd., at 7 p.m. Current 8th District State Representative Calvin Giles has been invited to speak as well.
Thursday, February 23: Chris Welch, who is challenging Karen Yarbrough for her position as 7th District State Representative, will speak at a location not yet confirmed. LaShawn K. Ford, who is running for 8th District State Representative, and James T. Smith, who is running for State Senate, will also be invited.
Voter registration drives
Saturday, January 28: 11 a.m. – 2 p.m., Ultra Foods, 7520 Roosevelt Rd.
Saturday, February 4: 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. AND 2 p.m. – 5 p.m., Ultra Foods
Saturday, February 11: 11 a.m. – 2 p.m., Forest Park Library, 7555 Jackson Blvd.
Saturday, February 18: 2 p.m. – 5 p.m., Ultra Foods.
