St. John Lutheran Church will present “The Da Vinci Code: Can You Separate Fact from Fiction?” on Sunday, June 4 at 4 p.m. in the Church sanctuary.
A series of video clips will be shown featuring Dr. Paul Meier, professor of ancient history at Western Michigan University, Dr. Scot McKnight; theology professor from North Park University; Dr. Kathy McReynolds, professor of social ethics from Biola University in La Mirada, California, and Dr. Mark Strauss, professor of new testament from Bethel Seminary in San Diego.
Topics presented in the video clips are: “What can history really tell us?” “Can we trust the four Gospels?” and “What is the role of women in Christianity?”
Dr. Andrew Steinmann, Associate Professor of Theology at Concordia University in River Forest, will be present to discuss the historical accuracy and potential impact of the book and movie and will answer questions from the audience.
The program will be moderated by Dr. Norman Young, provost emeritus of Concordia.
The public is invited. St. John Lutheran Church is located at 305 Circle Avenue.
