Mildred D. Lightell, 92, ‘Dime store lady’
Mildred D. Lightell, nee Miller, a lifelong resident of Forest Park, died June 28 at age 92.

Mrs. Lightell worked for over 30 years at the Forest Park Ben Franklin, known to many as the “Dime Store Lady.” She was a lifelong member of St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church and an avid bowler at Circle Bowling Lanes.

Mrs. Lightell was the beloved wife of the late Ray Lightell and the loving mother of Robert (Jane) Lightell of Flossmoor, Kenneth (Charlotte) Lightell of Elizabeth City, North Carolina and step son Charles (Eileen) Lightell of Fort Myers, Florida.

She was the cherished grandmother of Rae Worsham of Oklahoma, and Malcolm and Julie Lightell, both of Portland, Oregon.

Mrs. Lightell was the proud great grandmother of Todd and Tanner Worsham, and the sister of the late Joseph Miller and Elsie Moss. She had two siblings, the late Joseph Miller and the late Elsie Moss.

Services and interment are private at Woodlawn Cemetery.
