Chop a bun!

Did you read this paper last week? What is going on around here? Disappearing money, reappearing money, e-mails being rerouted, charges of corruption, graft, and on and on. Maybe it was the heat wave, the construction noise, those big real estate tax bills. All this could make a person grouchy.

But after the noisy trucks, the piles of gravel, the closed-off streets, alleys, and sidewalks comes the moment of truth … brought to you through the efforts of Joe (Giuseppe) Nardulli. Our alleys couldn’t be more beautiful if they had been carved out of marble by Michelangelo himself. Mr. Nardulli, a native of Bari, Italy came to the U.S.A. in the ’60s and worked hard at his trade. Then seven years ago he took a chance and started his own business. Not one to sit back in an air-conditioned office while his men do the back-breaking work, Joe Nardulli is on the job every day. So congratulations to Joe and thank you to all his hard workers such as Jose and Homero, who are finishing the concrete outside the fence of Mayor Calderone.

Congratulations and great good luck to Megan Nutley who recently started her own greeting card business-Silhouette Blue. These unique handmade cards are available individually for a mere $2.The designs are for a number of occasions and boxed sets of 10 thank you cards are also available. You can see these cards on Megan’s website, www.silhouetteblue.com. Payment can be made by check at Paypal. Megan has recently started custom handmade wedding invitations as well. By the end of this year, she hopes to have pre-designed invitations which can be individualized by paper color, font and layout. Right now everything is “from scratch.” She’ll probably have Christmas cards available this year as well.
