Margaret Crawford, 90, Three-term school board member

Margaret C. Crawford, 90, of Forest Park, died on Aug. 19, 2006. An active member of First United Church of Christ for over 50 years, she served in the Army Nurse Corps during World War II, stationed in the Aleutian Islands and Anchorage, Alaska. She worked as a school nurse for Dist. 95 (Brookfield and LaGrange Park) for 14 years, and served three terms on the District 91 school board. She enjoyed traveling, bowling, playing bridge and poker, and beating her sons at gin rummy, much to their chagrin.

Mrs. Crawford was the wife of the late Dolph B. Crawford; the mother of Mike, Jay (Anita), and Wink (Sheila); and the sister of Oscar and Harold Johnson, the late Ann Swanson, John, Emil, and Adolph Johnson.

Visitation will be held Friday, Aug. 25 from 3 to 9 p.m. at Zimmerman-Harnett Funeral Home, 7319 Madison St. in Forest Park. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 26, at First United Church of Christ, 1000 Elgin Ave. in Forest Park, followed by interment at Glen Oak Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to First United Church of Christ are appreciated.

Beverly C. Carlson, 83, Former Forest Park resident

Beverly C. Carlson, 83, died on Aug. 14, 2006 in Hayward, Wis. She lived in Forest Park for many years before moving to Hayward.

The daughter of Eric and Esther Carlson, she grew up in Elmhurst and graduated from York High School. She was employed by McCann-Erickson in Chicago and retired several years ago.

Beverly Carlson is survived by her brother, Don Carlson. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Eugenie E. Carlson.

A private interment service was held Aug. 18 at Mt. Olive Cemetery in Chicago. Funeral arrangements were handled by Hayward Funeral Home in Wisconsin.
