Daryl K. Buchholz, 43

Daryl K. Buchholz, 43, of Forest Park, died on Sept. 10, 2006, at the Hines Veterans Administration Hospital in Hines, Ill.

Buchholz is a former resident of Winnipeg, Canada, and has lived in Forest Park for 20 years.

He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1983 to 1987 and was later employed as a civilian as an operating room technician. Buchholz was an avid cyclist and enjoyed reading a variety of books.

He is survived by his wife Karen, his mother Mary Loeppky and his father Kent Emil Buchholz. He is also survived by a sister, Kimberly Hayworth.

Visitation hours were held on Wednesday, Sept. 13 at Kopicki’s Parkwyn Funeral Home at 6901 West Roosevelt Road, Berwyn, Ill.

Violeta Santos Laroco, 76

Violeta Santos Laroco, 76, of Forest Park, died on Sept. 10, 2006, at Loyola Hospital. She was born April 11, 1930 in Manila, Philippines and lived in Forest Park for nine years.

After moving from the Philippines in 1980, Laroco worked numerous jobs from babysitting to working at a bakery. She lived with her son Levi in Forest Park. Laroco was a master homemaker who enjoyed gardening, sewing and creating a loving home.

Laroco is survived by her son, Levi Laroco.

Memorial services were held on Sunday, Sept. 17 at Drechsler, Brown and Williams Funeral Home in Oak Park from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., with services by Father Larry of Ascension Church at 4 p.m.

Dorothy M. Pederson, 89

Dorothy M. Pederson (Dammann), 89, of Forest Park, has died.

Pederson was the mother of Jeffrey (Kim), cousin to Jeanne Dixon and friend of Norman “Toolie” Hansen.

She was predeceased by her husband Charles.

Visitation was held Thursday, Sept. 14, 2006 at the Zimmerman-Harnett Funeral Home at 7319 W. Madison Street in Forest Park. Services were held Friday at 10 a.m. Interment will be in the Chapel Hill Gardens, West Cemetery.

John D. Booth, 82

John D. Booth, 82, of Forest Park, died earlier this month. Booth was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served in World War II.

Booth is survived by his wife Maureen (Ayersman) Booth; his sister Betty Graham; and his five children from a previous marriage, David, Robert, Barbara, Marian and Joanne.

He was the grandfather of Michelle Hayes, Cindi Tillery, Jonathan Booth, Michael Booth and Tom, Maris and Erin McHugh; great-grandchildren Ella Tillery, Ryan Booth and Peyton Booth.

Funeral services were held Sept. 15 at Hursen Funeral Home in Hillside and Westchester, Ill. Mass was performed at St. Bernardine Church in Forest Park and interment will be in Queen of Heaven Cemetery.

Lucille C. Dahms, 79

Lucille C. Dahms (Crawford), 79, of Tucson, Ariz., has died. Dahms is a former resident of Maywood and Gurnee, Ill.

Dahms is predeceased by her husband, Donald C. Dahms and her sister Mary King.

She is survived by her children, Donna Spandikow, Diane Klinetobe, Debra Swanson, Donald Jr., Danita Ewald and Drake; four siblings, John Crawford, Jeanne Pearce, Gerry Shefte and Joe Crawford.

Dahms was also the grandmother to 11 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, Sept. 20 from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Zimmerman-Harnett Funeral Home at 7319 W. Madison St., Forest Park. Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Sept. 21. Interment will be as Concordia Cemetery.
