An unspeakable tragedy; the death of Mike Lambke as he drove home from Diane Becker’s wake last Monday night. It’s thought he may have suffered a heart attack, but some condition brought on by his diabetes cannot be ruled out. My sympathy to Mike’s family and his many Forest Park friends.

Sunrise, sunset; congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Dave Goetz who were married at Saint Bernardine’s on Nov. 4, 2006. Marcy and Dave honeymooned in New York City, the greatest city in the world. All of Forest Park wishes them many years of happiness.

Many Forest Parkers attended the St. Bernardine’s Class of ’66 reunion last month. Among the revelers were Gary Marcantonio, Roseann McGuin, Rick Cody, Monica Calcagno and others. The party was held at Ron Milchoeffer’s place on Harlem Avenue.

Laura Pardun, granddaughter of Dixie Quitsch was a flag girl with the Honor Guard in the Veterans’ Day Parade at Disneyworld. The band and marchers from Naperville North went to Animal Kingdom, Epcot Center, The Magic Kingdom and who knows where else.

Forest Park was well represented at the Oak Park Area Arts Council’s “Artful Objects 2006” fine art show and auction last Friday, Nov. 3. Bob Snyder is shown with some samples of the pottery he exhibited. Other artists from town whose work was on display were Greg Phillips, Jeannine Guncheon, Carol Friedle, Mary Dye, Mike DiGilio, and Fred Bryant.

Jeanine Guncheon will be exhibiting some of her pieces in Washington, D.C. the weekend of Nov. 16 to 18.

On Nov. 19 at 4 p.m. the Symphony of Oak Park and River Forest will perform at First United Church of Christ, 848 Lake St. in Oak Park. Several Forest Park musicians perform with the symphony and the quality of the music is extraordinary. Remember “amateur” comes from the Latin for “love.” Works by Weber, Elgar, Sibelius, Mahler, Gliere and Tschaikovsky are on the program. If you want to learn about the music, Carl Grapentine of WFMT gives a pre-concert conversation/explanation at 3 p.m. the day of each concert.

Belated happy birthday wishes to Michael Harnett on Nov. 14; on the 15th, Elizabeth Kachlic, and Rebecca Borzello; Nov. 16 birthdays are Daniel Leisten, Michael Mayman, Cara White and Carol Jargstorf; on the 17th, Dave Michaelson, Jim Bruzek, Michow Akimora, Jessica Dylewski, Hilda Kearney and anniversary greetings to Phil and Pat Czuprynski; on the 18th, happy birthday to Chris Brower; Nov. 19, Aaron Apilado, Bill Kenny, Rich Bothie, Pat Carey, Sara Scheiwe, Nicholas Mear, Inga Sieber and Susanne Jasper; A happy Nov. 20 wedding anniversary to Chris and Dennis Rosselli; on the 21st, Amy Huynh, Lillian Sansone and Mary Jane Cesario, all get a birthday cake; and on the 22nd it’s Lisa Haeger and Nicholas Mangiaracina.

Thanks for your time.
