When you bring your cleaning into Bakoll Cleaners in Constitution Court, the diminutive lady behind the counter already knows your name and how to spell it. This remarkable little lady, Jin Sook Shen, is also a talented seamstress, musician and painter. She is shown here in her cleaning establishment with one of her Korean party dresses behind her. In her hands she holds a few samples of the watercolors, which she does at home after work.
Faithful Polly, her Lahsa Apso, accompanies Jin Sook to work each day. She and her husband have two grown children, son Edwin a lawyer with the JAG department in Hawaii and a daughter, Lauren, a physician at Harvard University. Edwin was in Iraq for a long time and everyone is thankful he is now in Hawaii.

Shirley Christell is happy to announce the $1,000 from last fall’s book sale will be used to buy rolling shelves for the library. There is a shortage of paper backs to be sold at the ongoing and twice yearly book sale, so dig around and see if you can find some to donate to the library.
Sympathy to the Marunde family on the death of Alma, “Grandma” Marunde. Word got around too late for many of the Marunde’s friends to get to the wake or funeral services.
