Highlights– In a four inning weather-shortened game in Berkeley, Mohr Oil came out on top 8-3 on Friday. The scoring started in the first inning when Sydney Higgins-Jones hit a double that he stretched into a triple. Jimmy Turek then slapped a single into right to score Higgins-Jones. Jimmy Turek later scored on a single by Brady Ryan. In the bottom of the first, Berkely would score three runs off pitcher Sydney Higgins-Jones, despite a brilliant stab of a line drive by Higgins-Jones for one out, who then threw to third to double off the runner, only to see the ball sail into foul territory passed the surprised third baseman. However, that was all the scoring that Berkely would do. In the top of the second, Josiah Simmons reached first by driving a single up the middle. Aaron Jordan then laced a triple that hit the centerfield fence. Jordan later scored on Jimmy Turek’s second single of the game to make the score 4-3 in favor of Mohr Oil. In the top of the third, Josiah Simmons hit his second single to drive in Brady Ryan, who also singled, making the score 5-3. In the top of the fourth Aaron Jordan hit a single, Jimmy Turek singled him to third, then Brady Ryan hit a 1-1 fastball over the right-center field fence for a three-run homerun making the final score 8-3. Sydney Higgins-Jones got the win, with Brady Ryan and Jimmy Turek providing one inning each of no-hit ball.
