Ralph F. Schulz, 72, Longtime village resident
Ralph F. Schulz, 72, a longtime resident of Forest Park, died June 23, 2007, at the Lutheran Home in Arlington Heights. He was born Aug. 8, 1934, in Chicago to Ernest and Amanda Schulz. He was a graduate of Bethel Lutheran Elementary School and Luther Institute High School. He also attended Northwestern University.
Before his retirement, Schulz worked for Traveler’s Insurance.
He is survived by his brother Elmer Schulz of Eau Claire, Wis.; his nieces, Patricia Johnson of Altoona, Wis., Linda Schulz of Gurnee, Ill.; and a nephew, Robert Schulz of Waupaca, Wis. He was the great-uncle of Paula, Randi and Heidi Johnson, and a dear friend of many.
He was predeceased by his parents.
Visitation was held June 26 at Drechsler, Brown and Williams Funeral Home, and June 27 prior to the funeral services at Bethel Lutheran Church in Chicago. Interment will be at Concordia Cemetery in Forest Park.

Viola E. Schnurstein Manak, 84, Married in Berwyn, Ill.
Viola E. Schnurstein Manak, 84, of Yorkville, Ill., died on Thursday, June 28, 2007, at the Valley West Community Hospital in Sandwich, Ill. She was born June 5, 1923, in Chicago, the daughter of James and Theresa (Pelikan) Manak.
Schnurstein Manak was married June 30, 1945 in Berwyn, Ill., to Frank E. Schnurstein, and they spent the next 23 years of their lives together until his death on March 28, 1969.
She is survived by her children, Terri Schulz of Sheridan, Ill., and Frank Schnurstein of Winona, Minn.; two grandchildren, Michele Maurer, Jr., of Marseilles, Ill., and Brian Schulz of Aurora, Ill.; great-grandchildren, Emily and William Waite of Marseilles, Ill., and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents, her husband and one brother, James Manak.
Memorial services were held at the Nelson Funeral Home and Crematory, 1275 Countyline Road, Sandwich, Ill., with Father Matt Lamoureux officiating. Interment will be at Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
