Walter V. Delaney, 66, Former Maywood resident
Walter V. Delaney, 66, of Berwyn, died on Sept. 14, 2007. He was a former resident of Maywood.
Delaney is survived by his friend, Kathy Schartel; five brothers, David, Michael, Howard, James and John; four sisters, Kathleen “Kay” Martin, Sharon McElhaney, Marie Glidewell and Virginia; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his brother, William.
Funeral arrangements were handled by the Zimmerman-Harnett Funeral Home, 7319 Madison St., Forest Park. Interment will be held privately at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood.
Judith Markovic Lopez, 52, Longtime village resident
Judith Markovic Lopez, 52, died on Sept. 1, 2007, following a brief illness. She was born in Chicago in 1954 on Halloween and lived in Forest Park beginning in 1966.
Lopez is survived by her mother, Erma (Schauer); her children, Jason, John and Joseph; a brother, John Markovic; two sisters, Christine Richards and Maureen Nelson; and one grandchild, Isabell.
Funeral arrangements were handled by Kopicki’s Heritage Funeral Home, 3117 S. Oak Park Ave., Berwyn. Memorial contributions may be made to the Judith Markovic Lopez Memorial Fund in care of the family.
Peter Joseph Tierney, 56, Surviving family in Forest Park
Peter Joseph Tierney, 56, of Elgin, died Sept. 11, 2007. He was born on May 6, 1951 to Marie LaRosa and John.
He was raised in Forest Park and graduated from Proviso East High School in 1969. Tierney was a retired 35-year employee of ComEd and a volunteer fireman in Bartlett for 12 years. He was also an auxiliary member of VFW Post 1307 and a member of the Berwyn Moose Lodge.
Tierney is survived by his mother, Marie; a daughter, Karrie McDaniel, of Elgin; a son, Christopher Tierney, of Bartlett; two brothers, John, of Broadview and Patrick, of Forest Park; a sister, Maureen, of West Dundee; a grandchild, Ava; four nephews, Phillip, Matthew, Kevin and Shane; and three nieces, Jennifer, Susan and Jennifer.
He was predeceased by his father, John.
Visitation and funeral services were arranged by Countryside Funeral Home, 950 S. Bartlett Road, Bartlett.
