Evelyn R. Staats, 85, Former village resident

Evelyn R. Staats, 85, died on Saturday, Oct. 13, 2007, at Three Oaks of Marshfield.

She was born on June 25, 1922, in Forest Park, to William and Clara (Cohrs) Zars. She was a graduate of Proviso High School and received her Registered Nurse degree from West Suburban School of Nursing in 1947. She married Gustav W. Staats on May 7, 1949, in Forest Park.

She is survived by her husband, Gustav; a son, David Staats; a daughter, Mary Peck; two grandchildren, Nathan and Adeline Peck; three sisters and a brother, Hilma Boesenberg of Forest Park, Lorna Hennig of Watertown, Wisc., Arnold Zars of Arlington Heights, and Lillian Brown of Darien.

She was predeceased by her parents, and a brother, Wilbert Zars.

Private family visitation and services were held Oct. 16 at Rembs/Kundinger Funeral Home in Marshfield. A funeral service will also be held on Thursday, Oct. 18 at 2:30 p.m. at Dreschler-Brown Funeral Home, 203 S. Marion, Oak Park, where a visitation will also take place from 1 p.m. until the time of service.

Burial will be in Concordia Cemetery in Forest Park.

Jeanette V. Borowski, 88, Local church member

Jeanette “Jan” V. Borowski, 88, has died. Borowski was a member of Old Time Radio, the St. Bernardine’s parish and RSVP Triton College.

She is survived by a son, Ken; three grandchildren, Darren, Dana and Robin.

Borowski was predeceased by her husband, Lester.

Memorial services will be held Sunday, Oct. 21 at 1 p.m. at Peace Lutheran Church in Lombard. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Cremation Society of Illinois.

Eva C. Pulaski, 92, Forest Park native

Eva C. Pulaski (Surges), 92, died on Oct. 11, 2007.

She was born in Forest Park where her family lived on Burkhardt Court. Pulaski was formerly employed as a credit manager at Busch Jewelers in Elmwood Park.

She is survived by two daughters, Patricia Kautz and JoAnn Heil; two grandchildren, Paula Peterson and James Heil; two step-grandchildren, Pamela Nickerson and Robert Kautz; and eight great-grandchildren, Abigail and Joseph Peterson, Alexander, Brandon, Jaclyn and Julie Nickerson, and Madison and Joshua Kautz.

Pulaski was predeceased by her husband of 65 years, Joseph Pulaski; and four siblings, Theodore, Ella Kalinauskas, Louise Wentzel and Clarence.

Funeral services were arranged by Zimmerman-Harnett Funeral Home, 7319 Madison St. Interment will be at Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
