Registrar training
On Wednesday, Nov. 14, Citizens United in Forest Park will sponsor voter registrar training. Only registered voters are eligible for this program. Mandatory eye exams
With the support of the Illinois PTA, a bill approved by legislators earlier this year mandating an eye exam for incoming kindergarten students has been signed into law. According to a statement by the statewide organization, the requirement applies to all incoming kindergarten students at public, private and parochial schools. The Illinois PTA supported the legislation so that eye problems can be diagnosed and treated at an earlier age.
The bill was first introduced in the Senate Feb. 28 and won approval in the House on May 31. The legislation was signed into law last month.
