June Programs

Tuesday, June 17 at 10 a.m.: Finding Help: Community Based Senior Care and Locating Benefits and Assistance, presented by Age Options.

Tuesday, June 24 at 2 p.m.: Box Office Buster at the library. Kids can come to see “The Spiderwick Chronicles” with free popcorn provided. Kids under 8 must be accompanied by an adult.

There are also several recurring story times and other programs in the children’s department. Please call for details.

All library programs are free, unless otherwise noted.

Both the children’s and adult departments are sponsoring summer reading programs starting Saturday, June 14 and running through July 19. The theme in the children’s department is “Catch the Reading Bug.” Activities will kick off with a party for all ages from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. on June 14. Both the adult and children’s programs have lots of prizes.

Don’t forget the annual Friends of the Library Book Sale, which will be held Friday, June 20, and Saturday, June 21 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Free lawn passes to the Ravinia 2008 Music Festival are available for selected dates, on a first come, first served basis, to Forest Park Public Library card holders. Come to the Circulation Desk and select any two tickets while supplies last.

The library is closed on Sundays during the months of June, July and August. Sunday hours will begin again on Sept. 7.
