Major Boys
The Forest Park Little League Major Boys team finished 3-1 in the recently completed Berkeley tournament. In the first game of the tournament Michael Hanrahan struck out 11 Garfield Park batters and hit a home run to cap a 10-0 Forest Park win.
The second game saw River Forest break open a close game with two late inning homeruns to pull out an 8-3 victory. Joshua Funderwhite hit two timely doubles in game three, knocking in four key runs to back an outstanding pitching performance by Ryan Vilanova as the Forest Park team outlasted Melrose 8-6.
The final game in the tournament saw the Forest Park team take advantage of numerous Berkeley walks to pull out an 11-1 win. Winning pitcher Adam Powers backed a complete game on the mound with a late inning homerun that provided the finishing touches to a well played tournament.

Spotless Carwash 11
This contest was a display of some sparkling defense. Sherman Martin of Spotless played flawless defense at shortstop. In the field for Trage, Miles Guillen, Jake Gordon and Frank Mott each made great catches on hard-hit line drives. James Hobson finished the top plays with a lunging game-ending catch.
As for offense, Charlie Hoenhe smashed a homerun for Spotless, and Jeremiah Cananda and Sherman Martin had three hits apiece. Offensively for Trage, Frank Mott had four hits, James Hobson (double and triple), Jake Gordon and Brandon Picket had three hits each.
Forest Park will be hosting games for the minor girls on July 8. Come enjoy some great softball action.
