Viola M. Graley, 80, Raised in Forest Park
Viola Graley (Mear), 80, died July 23, 2008. She was born and raised in Forest Park and later moved to Oak Park.
Graley is survived by her children, Candy Quaglia and Harry Graley Jr.; two siblings, Cora Flagg and Elmer Mear Jr.; five grandchildren, Lisa Ackley, Michael Quaglia, Ryan Graley, Jason and Gregg Heinemann; five great-grandchildren, Brittany, Samantha, Alexis, Gianna and Jason Jr.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Harry Sr.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Salerno’s Rosedale Chapels, 450 W. Lake St., Roselle, Ill., 60172. Interment is at Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
Freeda Schleiden Cwick, 92, Former Forest Park resident
Freeda Schleiden Cwick, 92, died Friday, Aug. 8, 2008, at the Ponds of Wealshire in Lincolnshire. She was born Nov. 22, 1915 on the family farm in Metropolitan, Mich. She was a former resident of Forest Park and Libertyville, and was a longtime employee of Calcagno’s Food Mart in Forest Park.
Cwick is survived by her son, Bruce Schleiden of Grayslake; two grandsons, Keith Schleiden of Libertyville and Scott Schleiden of Mundelein; three great-grandchildren, Nathan, Max and Chloe; and two step-great-grandchildren, Jordan Feltner and Marissa Spooner.
She was predeceased by her first husband, Warren Schleiden in 1964, by her second husband, Melvin Cwick in 1995 and by her son, Ronald Schleiden in 2006.
Funeral services were under the direction of Burnett-Dane Funeral Home, 120 W. Park Ave., Libertyville. Interment is at Concordia Cemetery in Forest Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Lamb’s Farm, 14245 W. Rockland Road, Libertyville, Ill., 60048.
Dorothy K. Witte, 96, Oak Park resident
Dorothy K. Witte (Knoke), 96, of Oak Park, died Aug. 11, 2008. She was former resident of Aurora.
Witte is survived by three children, Elizabeth Becker, Jonathan Witte and Robert Witte; six grandchildren, Mary, Peter, Joshua, Kevin, Matthew and Nathan; five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Paul G. Witte; and three siblings, Paul, Henry and Anna.
Funeral services were held Aug. 13 at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church on Circle Avenue, and interment is at Lincoln Memorial Cemetery in Aurora. Memorial contributions may be made to St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 305 Circle Ave., Forest Park, Ill., 60130. Arrangements were under the direction of Zimmerman-Harnett Funeral Home, 7319 Madison St., Forest Park.
