Catherine “Kay” Madden, an 89-year-old die-hard Cubs fan, threw out the first pitch for the club’s Aug. 5 game against Houston, representing an area sponsor of the North Side team. Madden, an Oak Park resident, is the mother of Dorothy Gillian, who lives with her husband Tim Gillian in Forest Park.
“They won the game that day, 11-7,” Madden said of her team. “We had a wonderful time and I have a lot of snapshots and pictures to prove it.”
