Eleanor Van De North, 90, Graduate of St. Bernardine

Eleanor R. Van De North (Beaven), 90, of River Forest, died Sept. 8, 2008. Van De North was born and raised in Forest Park, and is a graduate of St. Bernardine Catholic School and Proviso East High School in Maywood.

Between 1934 and 1941 she worked at Continental Bank in Chicago. She was an avid Cubs fan and enjoyed playing bridge.

For more than 60 years she lived in River Forest.

Van De North is survived by her children, Jack, Patti Ryan, Sharon Van De North and Mary Ward; seven grandchildren, John Van De North, Peter Van De North, Brendan McKillip, Kevin McKillip, Elizabeth Coffey, Emily McAuliffe and Martha McAuliffe; nine great-grandchildren, Ian, Elena, Emma, Evelyn, Zoe, Clara, Hollis, Timothy and Grace; and several nieces and nephews.

She survived her husband, John Bernard; and four siblings; Tom Beaven, George Beaven, Marge Panzer and Frances Treonis.

Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Zimmerman-Harnett Funeral Home, 7318 Madison St., Forest Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the Arthritis Foundation or the American Heart Association.
