At a Saturday funeral service for 21-year-old Illinois Army National Guard Spc. Joshua Harris, hundreds of family and friends filled the gymnasium at Harris’ alma mater, Walther Lutheran High School in Melrose Park. Harris, a Forest Park native, was killed in an explosion Sept. 17 in Afghanistan and posthumously promoted to the rank of sergeant.
