William R. Mohr, 82, Brother was mayor of Forest Park

William Raymond Mohr, 82, died Sunday, Feb. 15, 2009, at his home in Delavan, Wis. He was born Nov. 26, 1926, in Chicago, the son of Roy I and Nellie (Moran) Mohr.

He married Shirley Parks on Feb. 3, 1951, in Waukegan, Ill. She died March 20, 1989.

On Nov. 12, 1994, Mohr married Rose “Pils” Shields at St. Andrews Catholic Church in Delavan.

He was an iron worker with the Iron Workers Local 1 Chicago until his retirement. He served with the U.S. Navy during WWII.

Mohr is survived by his wife, Rose, of Delavan; four daughters, Susan Colin of Las Vegas, Candace Kuhnke of Delavan, Kimberly Sharpe of Connecticut, and Tami Mohr of Delavan; a son, Roy Henry III, of Florida; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; five step-children; a twin brother, John Mohr; also nieces and nephews.

In addition to his first wife, Mohr had survived his parents; a son, Michael; and his two brothers, Howard and Roy. Howard Mohr was a mayor of Forest Park, the name behind the community center.

Funeral services were held at St. Andrews Catholic Church in Delavan with Fr. Brian Holbus officiating. Burial will be at Oakridge Abbey Cemetery in Hillside. Memorial contributions to the Walworth A.R.C. or the Walworth Lakeland Animal Shelter are appreciated.
