With 21 percent of the votes counted in the District 209 school board race, incumbents Emanuel “Chris” Welch, Dan Adams and Brian Cross have a slight edge. Nine candidates are running for four seats on the board.

 

Also in the running is challenger Kevin McDermott.


According to an unofficial tally from the Cook County clerk’s office, Cross is leading the race with 1,527 votes; McDermott is a close second with 1,526; Adams is in third with 1,505; and Welch has 1,504.
