Commissioner Marty Tellalian was feeling a little exhausted by what has been an incredibly drawn-out process to improve some of the parks in town. Following what would be the council’s longest discussion of its April 13 meeting – whether to finally name one of the nameless commons – Tellalian quipped that it’s easy to see why Forest Park has been so slow in giving them proper titles.

As reported in this week’s issue, the sentiment behind the proposed name of Cornerstone Park certainly seems appropriate and would have been a fine choice, we think. It’s also a good idea to give residents a say in what we’ll call the little parks scattered around town.

We agree that the parks should be named, and waiting a few more weeks to choose those names won’t hurt anything. In fact, we’ll even offer a suggestion: Haley’s Common.
