Edward C. Huebner, 90, Forest Park resident

Edward C. Huebner, 90, of Forest Park, has died.

The son of a stone cutter, born in his parent’s Forest Park home on Circle Avenue, Huebner was the youngest of seven children and grew up through the Great Depression to serve in the U.S. Coast Guard during WWII. Huebner chased his American dream of clean fun and a good golf game to a 50-year marriage to Esther (Wolf) Huebner.

His broad smile, easy manner and big heart brought this lifetime Forest Parker two children, seven grandchildren and a 57-year membership in the local VFW where he’d be glad to know they’ll be hoisting one in his honor.

Huebner is survived by his wife, Esther; two children, James and Julie Brown; seven grandchildren, Jessica, Andy and Amelia Huebner, and Jake, Jimmy, Billy and Kaeli Brown; and several nieces and nephews.

He had survived his siblings, Elsie, Paul, Charlotte, Arthur, Walter, Florence and Elmer.

Visitation and funeral services were held at Zimmerman-Harnett Funeral Home, 7319 Madison. Interment is at Glen Oak Cemetery.
