All in a day of play

On behalf of the Forest Park Little League, I would like to thank everyone who attended the Beverly Thompson Opening Day Ceremonies. It was an honor for the board to dedicate the 2009 Little League season to our dear friend, Beverly.

We would like to thank Lou Thompson and park Commissioner Cathleen McDermott for throwing out the ceremonial first pitches. Our sincere gratitude goes out to the following people and organizations for making the day a fantastic success; the Park District of Forest Park, Randy Standish of Ultra Foods, the Forest Park Firefighter Honor Guard, Jackie Evans for singing the national anthem, the members of the Women’s Auxiliary and to all the volunteers who helped cook and serve food that afternoon.

I would especially like to thank my fellow board members, Dave Pyan, Mark Gordon, Bob Dowdle and Caroline Eibenberger for their commitment and dedication to making the Forest Park Little League a success year after year. I thank them for the many hours they have spent working toward opening day and will continue to do throughout the season.

Richard Gray
President,
Forest Park Little League
