In a recent issue, the Review relayed the story of a local family determined to make the best of a bad situation. Terry and Madge Laitala have been battling Terry’s symptoms every since his diagnosis of Parkinson’s disease several years ago. Most recently, they’ve established a small but vibrant exercise class that uses the basics of boxing to improve their overall quality of life.

The Laitalas would love for you to join them and see for yourself the benefits of an hour’s worth of exercise. Too, they hope you’ll gain an understanding of how men and women afflicted with this disease cannot be defined by it.

Terry and his wife, Madge, can be reached by phone at 708-848-6782. Their boxing class is Fridays at 5 p.m. in the Victory Martial Arts Academy, 1401 S. Circle Ave.
