Frank Precechtel, 85, Retired police officer
Frank Precechtel, 85, a North Riverside resident and former resident of Forest Park, died June 14, 2009.
Precechtel was born Sept. 25, 1923, and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Following the war, he was a police officer for the village of Forest Park for 18 years. He was also a member of American Legion Post #2910.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jennie Precechtel (Santore); his parents, Constantine and Frances (Tuma) Precechtel; his stepmother, Mary Chemelina; and his siblings, Constantine Precechtel and Frances Jenkins.
Precechtel is survived by his son, Frank Precechtel Jr.; his sister, Josephine Nichols; and his brother, Ronald Chemelina.
A funeral Mass was celebrated June 23 at St. Bernardine Church in Forest Park, followed by interment at Fairview Memorial Park Cemetery.
