We’re about to find out what a post-Orland Forest Park is like. Diminished, for sure.
Dr. Phyllis Orland died last Wednesday. A beloved and pioneering pediatrician, she practiced for decades out of her home on Jackson. That would be the home she shared with Dr. Frank Orland, a research-oriented dentist who was better known as the official historian of our village over many decades. Frank died several years ago.
A fine pair were the Orlands. Phyllis had the charm. Frank could, truth be told, be a little wearing. There we’ve said it. But together they represented the very best of Forest Park’s warmth and small town ways.
We will not pass this way again.
