Thankful for those who are there to help

A few months ago I fell and broke one ankle in several places, and severely sprained the other one. This involved surgery and weeks of rehabilitation. When I came home in a wheelchair to further recuperate, I didn’t realize that it wouldn’t be practical to use that wheelchair on carpeting.

We heard about the electric wheelchair that the community center has for use by residents of Forest Park, and my son-in-law went in to inquire about borrowing it. Everyone was so helpful and willing to provide what we needed. I can’t begin to tell you how much the community center electric wheelchair helped me to get around and recover.

This wheelchair was donated to the community center for use by the village, and they also have other items that are available. We have a wonderful asset in our community center, and I hope other Forest Parkers who are in need of assistance in recuperating from an illness will inquire about their help.
