A film crew from the History Channel’s Gangland, a documentary series that chronicles the nation’s gangs, was in Forest Park last week to shoot a segment for an upcoming episode. Hired actors were directed to play a pickup game of football on the lawns of the park district Friday as part of the narrative of the Tri City Bombers gang. According to a member of the film crew, the Tri City Bombers have no Chicago affiliation and are rooted in Texas. The gang grew out of a football team in that state, said the crew member. Forest Park was chosen for the shoot because it’s near the production company’s offices in Chicago.
