In remembrance of Kathy Garrigan, the third annual KG Classic Charity Softball Tournament will be played Saturday, Sept. 26 on the diamonds at 7501 Harrison in Forest Park. Garrigan, a former Oak Park resident and waitress at Molly Malone’s, drowned in May 2007 while serving as an AmeriCorps volunteer in Alaska. This year’s tournament raises money for Opportunity Knocks, a newly-established organization that seeks to work with the developmentally disabled.

Play begins at 7:30 a.m. and ends at 10 p.m. Free coffee and donuts will be served until 10:30 a.m., and activities for children will be featured all day.
