Angel D’Souza, a Forest Park resident and junior at Fenwick High School, hopes to one day be a familiar face to sports fans across the country as an anchor on ESPN’s SportsCenter. At least among fans of high school football, she may have already achieved that.

D’Souza appeared as a guest analyst on Comcast 100’s Sept. 11 broadcast of the Friars’ game against Mt. Carmel. From the sidelines at Toyota Park in Bridgeview, where the game was played, D’Souza offered keys to each team’s strategy during pre-game banter with Eric Schmidt, who is a regular host for the cable station. D’Souza also got to meet Gov. Pat Quinn, a Fenwick alum whose brother is D’Souza’s U.S. history teacher at the school.

“Fenwick had to play flawless football, which they didn’t even come close,” D’Souza said of the Friars’ 49-14 loss.

D’Souza is the youngest of four and lives with her family on the 900 block of Dunlop. She coaches in the Forest Park Youth Soccer Association and was a valedictorian at the Forest Park Middle School.
