Slightly more than a half-mile stretch of Greenburg Road in Forest Park is slated for resurfacing, and the improvements are expected to be funded largely with grant money. A total of $350,000 for the project is being provided through the Illinois Department of Transportation, leaving the village to pay for only $5,500. Agreements between the municipality and the state were approved by the council during an Oct. 26 meeting.

Greenburg Road, sometimes referred to as Cemetery Road, would be resurfaced between Desplaines and Hannah. Village Administrator Tim Gillian credited Rep. Karen Yarbrough, 7th Dist., with bringing the funding to Forest Park. The bidding process is expected to be completed in the winter.
