Therese C. Kilinski, 71, Active in Senior Citizens Club
Therese C. Kilinski (Constantino), 71, a longtime resident of Forest Park, died Nov. 1, 2009. Kilinski volunteered at Loyola Hospital with Pastoral Care and also in the gift shop. She was an active member of the Senior Citizens Club at the Howard Mohr Community Center.
Kilinski is survived by her children, Rosanne Sliwa, Carole Sorrentino, John Kilinski and Joseph Kilinski; her grandchildren, Cheryl and Joey Kilinski; a brother, Joseph Constantino; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held under the direction of Zimmerman-Harnett Funeral Home, 7319 Madison.
Carol Ann Maranto, 60, Retired District 209 teacher
Carol Ann Maranto, 60, died on Nov. 4 at West Suburban Medical Center in Oak Park, after complications from ovarian cancer. She was a retired special education teacher who had worked at Proviso East High School.
“She became passionate about it after she started as a resource teacher,” Rose Marie Anichini, Maranto’s sister, said. “The more she got into it, the more she realized it was her calling. It really let her know there was reason to be there.”
During her last 10 years at East, up until her 2004 retirement, Maranto served as chairwoman of the special education department.
She is survived by her sisters Rosie Marie Anichini, Margaret Baker; nieces, Amy, Christina and Maria Anichini; and nephews, Robert and David Baker. She was preceded in death by her father Samuel and her mother Margaret Maranto.
Services have been held. Memorial donations to St. Edmund Parish at 188 S. Oak Park Ave. or the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition Illinois Chapter are appreciated.
John P. Rubenic, 80, Forest Park resident
John P. Rubenic, 80, of Forest Park, has died.
He is survived by his son, Vern Rubenic; his grandchildren, Alex, Elisabeth and Lydia; and a sister, Joanne Weinberg.
Rubenic was predeceased by his wife, Peggy (Branchfield); and a sibling, Jackie Rubenic.
Funeral services were held under the direction of Zimmerman-Harnett Funeral Home, 7319 Madison.
