A charitable effort last spring that raised nearly $66,000 for local and international agencies turned over a check this month to the Forest Park Food Pantry. The CROP Walk, held annually in May with the help of several local congregations, saw 435 people raise money for hunger and disaster relief efforts. Twenty-five percent of the money is divided between nine local agencies, including the food shelf run by the staff of the community center, and its director, Karen Dylewski.
On Dec. 3, Tom Holmes handed Dylewski a check for $2,130. Holmes is a board member for the annual walk and writes a column for the Forest Park Review.
