This winter marks the third year that Anita Norman has organized donations of winter clothing for children living in low-income homes, and Forest Park residents have played a key role in the project, she said. One Coat, One Child is run by Norman and her son, Justin Bellafonte and attempts to deliver jackets to children who would otherwise not have a warm coat. Families in Forest Park have both donated and received clothing from her organization, said Norman. Recipients are identified through schools, domestic violence shelters, unemployment offices and neighbors. In the last two years, Norman estimated she has delivered about 1,000 coats.

Through Jan. 1, donations of winter coats may be made to One Coat, One Child. To contact Norman, e-mail her at onecoat_onechild@yahoo.com.
