Thank you for your contribution to the 9th annual Girl Scout Toy Drive. Hundreds and hundreds of toys poured in to the various toy boxes located throughout Oak Park and River Forest. Thirty Girl Scout troops worked in shifts throughout the day on two Saturdays in December collecting and gift-wrapping toys for impoverished children living on the west side of Chicago. The toys were distributed through a charitable organization called Fraternite of Notre Dame, located at 502 N. Central Ave.

The Girl Scouts wholeheartedly thank everyone who contributed toys and gift-wrapping materials for the toy drive and to all the public and private schools throughout the community for generously providing their locations for families to conveniently drop off toys. A special thanks to the following businesses and institutions that continually help out the Girl Scouts each year by allowing their locations to be a drop-off for toys: Buzz Café, Dole and Maze libraries, JDM Steel, Oak Park Tennis and Fitness Centre, and River Forest Library … and to the Oak Leaves and Wednesday Journal for announcing the drive!

The Girl Scouts of Oak Park and River Forest are grateful to everyone for contributing to this service project and supporting other Girl Scout service projects throughout the year. Wishing everyone much happiness and good health in 2010!
